“Director Margarett Perry whips all into a comic frenzy with her customary deftness at contemporary comedy. Each actor is spot on, the pace furious, and the moments land like a championship boxing match.” |

"The play's design is as inspired as the acting. Ian Crawford's original rock music blitzes the space between scenes, matching the students' energy. David L. Arsenault's set and lighting gives us a tastefully spare modern apartment and then, in a breathtaking move, shifts to Leonard's masculine, book-lined lair. Costumer Amanda Aiken defines each character perfectly: Douglas' preppy cashmere sweaters and sockless Italian loafers; Martin's unchanging ratty jeans and thin hoodie. Izzy drips sexuality in a series of outfits, the most striking being black vinyl pants that seem spray-painted on. And Kate: as she comes into her own, watch her shift from drab grey t-shirt to prosperous sky blue blouse and ultimately a saucy cherry top." - Ithaca Journal

“Brian Dykstra, long a familiar face at Ithaca’s Kitchen Theatre, recently spent a six-month Broadway run with Tom Hanks in Nora Ephron’s Lucky Guy. His frequent director Perry knows all his buttons: brutal, hilarious and tender.” |
